Still no camera, still no pictures back. Looks like my harddisk is gone forever.

I'm considering buying the Canon 400D in stead of sending my 300D out for reparation...Reparement will cost about 150 euro's. My camera is 3 years old and I made almost 20.000 pictures so a new, little more advanced camera might be a better option.... What would you do?

Arrgghh, and as if this is not enough for a bad start of the year I had to go to the doctor last week because of really heavy pain in my right chest, which made even my arm, back and shoulder hurt with every breath I took. It was really painful and a bit scary too! Found out I'm having Tiezes Syndrome. I had never heard of it. This is what I found about it on the internet:

Your ribs attach to a large bone in the center of your chest in the front. To help you breathe in, your muscles raise your rib cage and to help you breathe out, they relax and let your ribs drop. Therefore, your ribs form a movable joint where they attach to your chest bone. It is common for people to get arthritis (or in my case an infection) in these joints which hurts particularly when they breathe. Tietze's syndrome usually goes away in a few weeks or months with no treatment. However, you can block the pain with arthritis medication or take a xylocaine injection into the painful joints.

So I got painkillers and hope it will only take a few weeks in stead of months!!

The last couple of days I've been working on an assignment for Creatief met foto's.

Alice was so kind to let me use her camera so I could make some sneak peeks!

Something totaly different;

A little while ago Erik saw an aerial photograph of our neighbourhood in the lobby of an apartment building in our street. He thought it would be nice to have a copy of that picture in his office so he asked a resident if she new who made the picture. She came up with a website url. When I checked this website I was very pleasantly surprised!! I expected more aerial pictures, maybe some landscapes... but what I found was art! Wow, this man makes just gorgeous pictures, I totaly love them! So I thought I'd share this with you. His name is Roelof Bos and his website addy is http://www.roelofbos.com. Have a look, you'll be impressed!

And this is the photograph of our neighbourhood. The house in the circle is ours. It's funny, because untill I saw this picture I didn't realize that we are living on a little island!

Something else I want to share is this drawing my DD Marlijn made for me yesterday.

The big person is me (can you tell by the curls, haha), the little one is she, LOL!

If I only had hands like those I'm sure I'd got a lot more done in a day than I do now.

Makes you wonder tho how my little girl sees me... :)

Like most of us , I guess, I love to read books about scrapbooking. There are a lot of books I like but the Autumn Leaves books are certainly among my favorites, wich was confirmed again today! Today the 2 latest books I ordered arrived. "Designing with Details" and "Perfectly Clear". The first one is about how the little things make all the difference in your pages. The second one is about techniques for using clear stamps. WOW! Those girls from Autumn Leaves are soooo talented!! I just keep going through those books over and over again, drooling over all those gorgeous LO's and projects! Believe me, you just can't do without these books! Tons and tons of inspiration!






At the moment I'm working on some little canvasses, something I didn't much so far but it is so much fun! Unfortunatly I won't be able to show them for a long time...

sneaks and a new challenge!

I've been working my butt of and still have nothing to show :( I hope to be able to show a few LO's next week just before I leave on vacation but for now it's just sneaks, sneaks and more sneaks... :)

This is just a little bit of the LO's I finished lately, the rest I've already sent out, but as you can see I really have been doing something and I haven't been lazy :)

Just wanted to share with you what my table looks like while I'm working on a project. And this is not even so bad, sometimes it looks like a bomb exploded. I always clean up between two projects. I'm not so organised and have a hard time already finding everything I'm looking for :) It would be dramatic if I didn't clean up in between...

The challenge for july/august will be a scraplift challenge.

What do you have to do?

You can use whatever theme you like. You're free to use any color, embellishment, letters, stickers etc. you want but you're NOT allowed to use any patterned paper, just cardstock!

Because it's vacation time you have until August 30th to send in your LO.

I bought a new lens for my Canon 300D. I was not very happy with the standard lens that comes with the kit and my friend Anita, who has the same camera, was raving about this lens for a long time. I´ve seen her pictures and they are beautiful, so I thought if I was gonna buy a new one anyway I´d better do it before the holidays.

It´s the Tamron AF SP 28-75/2,8 XR DI Canon and this is the first picture I took with it:

No photo editing done on this! Isn't it great? I think I'm gonna love this lens.

Today was the last schoolday in the north of the Netherlands so if you´re leaving on vacation any day now...have lots of fun, make sure you make some precious memories and don´t forget to take loads of pictures!! Enjoy!

Done a lot of projects lately but nothing really I can show yet :( But hey, I guess that's good for me huh? :)

So I'll just give you a few sneaks:

Thought I'd share my latest workshop with you, it was the last one before summer and I wanted it to look fresh and summery. It's a little cardboard suitcase that contains a little minibook and a cd-box with a dvd to hold more pictures, movies or songs to go with the minibook. I scanned in the paper used for the workshop and every one could choose her own title to be printed directly on the DVD.

We finally decided to go to Tuscany (Italy) on vacation this year and I'm sooooo looking forward to it. I ordered some books (I'm a book freak) because we've never been there before. They arrived a few days ago and now the fun has already started! Just to look at the beautiful pictures, imagine to be there, read about the places we want to visit... fun, fun, fun! Just 3,5 weeks left before we leave, ahhh, wish I was there already!!

2 new challenges!!!

Yes, that's right... TWO! Why?? Because the first one is certainly not to join for everyone, it's a digital one.

As you might have noticed my banner is gone. No idea where it went or why, but instead of my handmade Urban Lily banner this ugly yellow frog is staring at me for days now.
Soooo... I need a new one. And I want a digital one. But I'm hopeless with that so I thought it might be a nice challenge for some of you photoshop experts. I know you're out there somewhere :) As it's such an important one for me the RAK wil be really worth it!
If you are interested you can e-mail me at scrappen@birgitkoopsen.nl and I wil send you a picture of me that I want included in the banner. The rest is up to you! Surprise me, knock me of my feet. The winning banner will of course shine at the top of my blog for the coming time!!!

Well... a whole week has gone by again already. Pfff...where did it go, what did I do??
I've been preparing my upcoming workshop (see button on the right) wich is almost fully booked already. I went over to Anita to have a nice evening crop, I've been working on some projects (that I will be showing soon) and I've been working with the awesome new scrap-club kit of wich a few sneak peeks here:




Monday there's a training/workshop for all DT-member of Kars at Bruynzeel/Sakura and of course I'll be going there, even though it's all the way down to Bergen op Zoom wich is a 3 hour drive for me and the workshop is only 2,5 hours. I just love pens, pencils and markers so it should be fun! I hope it's worth the ride. More about it next week!

For now I'll just sit by the phone anxiously waiting for my BIL to call. My Sil is due to deliver her baby any time now... well... within the next 2 weeks that is, but you never know :)

It's that time...

...of the month again! The march kit from Scrap-club has been released. The kit has been send to all the DT-members to make their LO's and projects and I can tell you we are all in awe!!! I think I can state that this is my favourite kit ever! Well, maybe, among some others, but really... this kit is awesome! Totaly my style, totaly my colors.
