A NEW CHALLENGE!

I'm leaving for a spring break tomorrow! A whole week of relaxing, swimming, having fun and probably visiting a few scrapbook stores while I'm in the area :) The first weekend good friends of us will join us with their children and I'm sure we'll have a great time!

Straight afterwards I'm going to the Wacky Workshop Weekend at de Creatie so a lot to look forward to!

I don't think I will be able to update while I'm away so it might be a little quiet around here the coming week.

So.... I thought I leave you with something to do when I'm away and decided to give you another challenge. And this time there will be a RAK involved again. The winner will get a nice package to make a great chipboard mini book.

Here's what you need to do:
This advertisement is your "sketch" but it's not just an ad challenge... I want you to use something on your LO that was NOT made for scrapbooking! So get creative, use your imagination, think out of the box and show me something nobody else did before!

I know... it's not an easy one, and therefore I will give you enough time. You can send in until march 7, 12.00 p.m.

Send your LO to scrappen@birgitkoopsen.nl. The winner will be announced march 8!

Looking forward to seeing all your beautiful work!

Finally a few sneak peeks of my projects made using the GetInspired! kit from De Creatie:

It's that time...

...of the month again! The march kit from Scrap-club has been released. The kit has been send to all the DT-members to make their LO's and projects and I can tell you we are all in awe!!! I think I can state that this is my favourite kit ever! Well, maybe, among some others, but really... this kit is awesome! Totaly my style, totaly my colors.

Now you get curious huh? Wanna know what's in there? ... it's so new, hot of the press, that you have probably not seen it yet! It's the new American Crafts!!! Want to see the kit? Click here!

You'll have to wait a few more days to see all our work in the scrap-club gallery but here are a few sneak peeks:

Just one more thing to say... these kits sell out fast, don't miss it!
Have a great day!!

Surprise, surprise!!

A little while ago we, the Alliance girls, decided that our "founder" and good friend Anita needed and deserved a lift up! She's not having such a great time since her sister Joanne past away last december so she sure could use some cheering up!
Yesterday morning we (Bonnette, Corinne, Danielle, Flo, Jo-Anne and me) showed up on her doorstep. She had no idea we were coming but her hubby was our partner in crime :) We brought everything we needed for a wonderful day: food, delicious carrot cake (thanks Rutger!) drinks, candy, flowers, presents and scrapbooking supplies... And a wonderful day it was! Anita was in shock the first few minutes, I think she didn't really realise what was happening, couldn't believe what was happening, but after a while you could tell that she was truly enjoying everything! We all had such a great day and I'm already looking forward to the next time we'll meet!

Today I felt sooo creative, don't know why... maybe it was the inspiring day with those girls that are all so talented, the talks we had, the laughs... or maybe it's those beautiful kits I received this weekend to work with... Whatever it was it was good, because I finished 4 of the 6 projects I have to untill the end of the week! WOW, that feels good!
Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Happy valentine's day!

I hope you all have a wonderful day with someone thinking of you in a special way!
This is what my DH found this morning when he woke up:

Journaling says:

I love you!
Not only for what you are,
but for what I am
when I am with you.

So, tell me, did you make something special for your valentine??

Oh, and I have a little toot! Today I got my copy of the March issue
Scrapbook Inspirations Magazine with my first UK publication in it! I even made it to the front page. Such a nice magazine, I feel honored to be in there!

Elsie scrapjack!

Found a new blog this weekend: SCRAPJACKED ! It's only the second challenge yet but it sure looks like fun! At least I got inspired and regarding all the comments I was not the only one :)

So here's my take on Elsie's LO:

Journaling is in dutch on the tag behind the main picture. I'll try to translate:
"Yesterday daddy read to you the story of Jip, who's daddy let him shave himself. Now it's time for your bath and when daddy askes you if you want to shave yourself too, your eyes start to shine and you yell "YEEEEESSSSS!!!" With some shaving gel and a thoothbrush as a shaving knife it takes only a minute 'till you're "shaved" from head to toe. How much fun!!"

It's been a long time since I scrapped my last 8,5x11" LO but it was fun working on this size again! Oh... and I couldn't resist using pipe cleaners again *LOL*

The future freestyle queen...

... is living under my roof! Her name is Marlijn and she is just 4 years old *LOL* Look what she made for her grandfather - my father - who is celebrating his 70th birthday today!!! Happy birthday dad, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Marlijn did it all by herself, the only thing I did was putting the yellow cardstock behind the page and she asked me to make her the pipe cleaner heart, everything else is her work :) She loves to draw, paint, glue, punch, cut and write. Most of the times when I go up to my scraproom she askes me if she can come along and scrap too :) I have no doubt that she will grow up to be a passionate scrapbooker and it makes me happy to see my little girl having so much fun with a pair of scissors, paper and some glue!

Have a wonderful weekend!

A new challenge!

I want to thank you all for the nice comments and e-mails you've send me! I'm glad everybody liked the challenge so much. A lot of you said that you've never used a sketch before but that is was so much fun that you will use it more now. Also a lot of you told me that you were looking forward to the next challenge even when there's no RAK involved. So I decided to give you your next challenge *LOL* Not a sketch this time but a product challenge!

Use chenille sticks (pipe cleaners) on your LO! No Rak this time :) but I'd love to see your creations so if you take the challenge please leave a link to your blog or online gallery in your comment or e-mail me on the day you post so I can have a look! Very curious what you'll do with this!

Here's what I did:

Also used some pipe cleaners to bind this little book. They are so fun I'm afraid I will use them a lot in the coming time!!

Hope you found some inspiration, have fun creating!!!

All I can say is....

Wow, wow, wow!!! I got no less then 33 wonderful LO's in my mailbox. Many, many more then I expected and all beautiful and unique!
I'm sooo glad that I didn't have to choose the winner myself because it was almost impossible to choose only 2!!!

But..... Anita did! Thank you so much Anita for your independend judgement, I'm sure it was a difficult decision!

And the winner of the first price is.....

"New Hat" by Yvonne de Boer! Congratulations Yvonne!

This is what Anita said about this LO:
I love how she took the idea of handcrafts from the hat theme and added it to her layout using stitching and hand tied buttons. A beautiful title with overlapping fonts and such a pretty mix of patterned papers!

The second price is for "Wanted" by Mariska Hofman!
Congratulations to you too Mariska!

And this is what Anita said about this LO:
I love the rich mix of colours and how she brings together the b&w photo with these rich colours by adding white rub-ons! The threaded string is a nice finishing touch!

And here are all the other lovely LO's in alphabetical order of the designers first names wich are underneath the LO's. You can click on the pictures to get a closer look!

I'm feeling sick...

When I got home from Kars yesterday evening I was not feeling very well already and during the night it got worse. I guess it's a flue...
I'm afraid the whole sketch-challenge thing will have a little delay!
Maybe 1 or 2 days, please be a little patient, hope to be back soon!
Hope you all feel a lot better than I do!

Sneak peeks...

Tomorrow we'll be leaving for my in laws in Wijchen. We have some birthdays to celebrate :)
We'll be taking 2 cars since I have to go to Ochten from there to work on sunday and monday and Erik and the kids have to get back on sunday. Marlijn doesn't have to go to school on friday so that means she and I can leave nice early and avoid the busy traffic.

Today just a few sneak peeks. I didn't have the time nor the proper light to photograph the whole projects. Made these for Kars too!

I'm not sure I'll be able to update my blog this weekend so this is probably the final reminder that monday is the last day you can
e-mail me your LO's for the challenge,
so come on ladies, be creative this weekend and you might be one of the winners!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
