Sneak peeks...

I can't show you the whole LO's yet but here are a few sneak peeks of the ones I made with the Get Inspired! kit. Just to make you curious :)

Tonight I'll be teaching a workshop in Groningen. We'll be making a Christmas mini album in a little box using the beautiful BG Fruitcake. Hope they like it!

Tomorrow I have to send out the present for the Secret Santa Swapp at Scrap-Club. We had to buy some scrap-goodies ànd make something ourselfs. We have to mail it tomorrow because some people who play are from outside The Netherlands but we're not alowed to open our presents untill Christmas eve.... and then the guessing begins. Five days we can guess who was our secret Santa before we'll post on the message board of Scrap-Club. So much fun!!!

Enjoy your day!

Sad news

Yesterday morning Joanne, my friend Anita's sister, past away.
I only met her once because she was living in England but I new right away that she was a lovely, warm and caring person and a great scrapper too!
Only a few month ago she was diagnosed with cancer and now she's already gone...
My sympathy goes to her kids and family and to Anita, of who I know she had a very strong bond with her sister!
Joanne was only 39 years young!

Thursday and friday I was asked by "De Duif" to do demonstrations for them at the "Knotsgekke Kaartendagen" in FEC Leeuwarden. I had to demonstrate the BG Christmas papers, alcohol ink and... the Xyron Personal Cutting System... I had never worked with that before but I found out that it is very easy. Hardly any thinking necesary. Just put in the paper, push the button and the machine does the rest!
It was nice to have the oppertunity to play around with it a little. This is one of the LO's I made during the convention (yes, I actually made a double LO!). All the shapes and letters were made with the Xyron.

The next Lo's and the little mini-album were made using the
scrap-club december kit. I love those 7Gypsies papers!!

The first one is an old picture of Lennart from almost 8 years ago. It was on my desk for a while waiting for the right paper and I think it goes very well with the 7Gypsies...

The next one is a picture of my DH and Anne, just fooling aroundwhilst having lunch in Amsterdam.

The little mini album was made using paperbags and chipboard cards. I made it at the Alliance weekend and asked all the girls to write their favorite quote on one site of the card. I added a picture and all their personal info on the other site.

Finally I want to share a LO I also made on the Alliance weekend. The flower where drawn on a plastic sheet (traced from the paper). It's a pretty simple one but I really like this LO!

In a few days I'm able to show you the LO's I made using the GetInspired! kit of "De Creatie".
So make sure to check in again later this week!

Pictures of a perfect weekend!

A weekend like this is great in many ways, one of them is that I got a lot of pictures of me! As scrapbookers we know that most of the time where the ones behind the camera. We have loads and loads of pictures of all our family members but only a few of ourselfs.
So here are my favs of ME:

This bunch of enthousiastic girls made me feel like a real model. Can you tell how much I enjoyed it? :)
There are many many more but I won't bore you with all of them!
.... Aahhhh well, just a few more to show the fun!

OK, enough is enough! Now we have to start scrapping al these pictures, no idea where to start..... :)
TFL! Have a great day!

Scrapbook Alliance Weekend Away!

As Corinne already said on her blog: "we came as scrapbookers, we left as friends!" and that is so true!
48 hours in one house with 8 women, some of them had never ever met before. We only left the house for a photoshoot on saturday, but not more then about 50 meters and we hardly slept!
So if you spend so many hours at one table together you don't just scrapbook, you also talk a LOT, and you really get to know each other. We did not only share our scrapbooking supplies but also our lifestories, our happiness and our sadness. We are all so different but we all have this one passion that brought us together and connects us and made it happen that we can all say we made some great new friends this weekend. And hereby I want to thank Anita for organising this and bringing us all together!

Top row: Flo, Kirsty, Jo-Anne - Middle row: Corinne, Danielle, Birgit - Bottom row: Bonnette, Anita

Thanks girls, for such a wonderful weekend!!!

Later this week I will post more pictures of all the fun we had, the mess we made and the gorgeous pictures we took of each other during the photo shoot!

It's been a while...

since my last post. Just been busy! I've been preparing a workshop I'm teaching tomorrow evening and done some work for a magazine. It's the first time I will be published in this magazine and I'm very excited about it! It's a great magazine and it's not dutch... and that's all I'm gonna say about it for now :) I hope to do more work for them in the future!

I've also been preparing for the upcoming scrapweekend organised by my friend Anita. Can you imagine... 8 women, all working in the scrapbook industry somehow, staying in a big house from friday evening until sunday evening, just to scrapbook for fun!!! No work, just fun scrapping. I can hardly wait until it's friday evening. We'll bring everything we need for breakfast and lunch, dinner will be served at our cottage saturday evening... if we want to, we can stay in our PJ's for about 48 hours! Check in on monday and you'll read all about it!

Today I finally got my copy of "the joy of scrapbooking" from Cantata Books.

In there is this LO of mine I made ages ago. Just after easter last year to be a little more precise, so more then 1,5 years ago.

It's funny to see how much my way of scrapbooking has changed in that time...
As you can see in this project I'm working on now. I thought it was about time to get an art journal since there are more ideas and pictures in my head than I can use before I forget them again :) Hope writing and drawing them down will help... not that I will have more time then!

Thanks again for peeking in!

Happy birthday Corinne!

Today is my friend Corinne's birthday, so happy birthday to you lady!!
Hope you have a great day and get spoiled terribly!! You have to be a little patient for my present... (until next weekend :)) but I made you this LO. A freestyle LO for our own freestyle diva! Hope you like it!

Journaling sais:
Hangin' out with you is always fun!
Your personality is just like your LO's:
spontanious, joyful, happy, bright, colorful,
busy, playful, free, loud, striking and
sometimes you go a little over the top and
someone has to tell you to take a break!
Heehee! When you're around we can be sure
we'll never be bored!
Happy birthday lady! Wish you lots of
happiness and joy for the coming year!

(btw. I used black felt lace on top here, and no Corinne... I'm not gonna tell you where I got it (yet) just be patient!)

Have a great day!

Yesterday evening Adriana, the owner of scrap-club invited Anita, Monique, Revlie and me for a DT-meeting in Utrecht. We first went bowling and had a lot of fun! I won, I won, I won, woohooo!!! :)
Then we went for dinner to Taj Mahal. It was a very nice restaurant and the food was delicious. After we finished dessert we we're just sitting and talking. Some of us still had a drink and Adriana called her husband to pick her up in about half an hour. But five minutes later there came a waiter at our table saying: "Could you please leave, there are people waiting, I need this table". Can you believe that. He was looking at me and I was just kind of speachless, mumbling something like "uh, oh, well, ok.... " As he walked away another waiter came to the table asking if everything had been ok. And we said: "yeah, well the food was nice but we don't like to be trhown out!" We told him what had happened and he thought we'd missunderstood. Revlie replied that she speaks perfectly dutch and that it was what the waiter had litteraly said. I think this other waiter got a little nervous then and felt like he had to make up a little for his colleque. When he saw my camera he asked if we wanted our picture taken in front of the Taj Mahal, so I gave him my camera. Then Monique asked him to take another one with her camera. He said something about what great camera's we have and Anita said to him: "Yeah, well, you know, we're working for this magazine and we do an article on restaurants!" And he went: "nooooo, that's not true, is it?" and I said: "Yes it's true, no joking!" and he said: "Really???" and I said "Really!!" I could tell he got very nervous then, asking if it had been ok, what we're gonna write. And I said: "Just wait and you''ll read all about it" As we went out Anita suggested to make some pictures from the outside. So we stood in front of the restaurant, pointing at it, talking and taking pictures. Hahaha, what a joke, they'd better have treated us right!
Ahhh, whatever... we had a great evening and a lot of fun!

Anita, me, Revlie, Monique and Adriana

Last week I've been teaching a workshop to a little group of women who haven't done any scrapbooking before. One of them hadn't even heard of it and had no idea what to expect. They wanted something easy but nice so we made the always succesful waterfall book. We had a very nice evening and I think they where quite pleased!

You can click on the image to have a better look!

The last thing I want to share with you is my contribution to the latest Scrapamore.
Two Christmas LO's and a Christmas candy box. Cool huh???

That's it for today! TFL!
